The Border Collie breed originated in the regions of the Anglo-Scottish border for the herding of livestock. It is said that the most pure bred Border Collies can be traced back to a dog known as Old Hemp (1893 – 1901). He was a strong, quiet dog, extremely good with sheep, whose working style became known as the ‘Border Collie style’. The Border Collie is often observed to be the most intelligent of all dogs and can be an excellent pet if given enough exercise and mental stimulation. They have an inbuilt need to work and will learn almost anything you teach them.
Wisp is very clever and loves to play ball and exercise. She is a loyal companion and a much loved member in a family home.
